Plant Stem Flow Meter Overview
The thermal dissipation-based Plant Stem Flow Meter is designed according to the Granier sap flow measurement principle. It utilizes a two-probe configuration, in which the upper probe contains a heating element that provides constant-power heating. Thermocouples are used to measure the temperature difference between the upper and lower probes. Based on these measurements, the sap flow rate within a plant stem can be calculated using the thermal dissipation principle and empirical coefficients, providing insight into the plant's transpiration and water consumption.
