With the continuous advancement of transportation infrastructure construction, tunnels are playing an increasingly important role in the modern transportation network. However, the special environment inside the tunnels poses many challenges to driving safety, and the issue of visibility is particularly prominent.
The tunnel space is relatively enclosed, and the ventilation conditions are limited. When vehicles pass through, the exhaust emissions are not easily dispersed quickly, making it easy for smoke and dust to accumulate. Moreover, there is a significant difference in the lighting conditions between the inside of the tunnel and the outside. Once the visibility decreases, the driver's line of sight is seriously affected, and it is impossible to clearly judge the road conditions ahead. This can easily lead to traffic accidents such as rear-end collisions and crashes, which pose a serious threat to the lives and property of drivers and passengers. According to statistics, traffic accidents caused by poor visibility in tunnels account for a relatively high proportion among various tunnel accidents, resulting in huge economic losses and social impacts.
In order to effectively solve the problem of tunnel visibility and ensure driving safety, the Tunnel visibility detector has been introduced. It is a precision instrument specifically designed for real-time monitoring of the visibility conditions inside the tunnel. Through the principle of optical measurement, it can monitor the scattering and absorption degree of light by suspended particles in the air inside the tunnel, so as to quickly and accurately calculate the current visibility value.
The Tunnel visibility detector is generally installed at key positions inside the tunnel, such as the entrance and exit, curves, long straight sections and other areas where visibility changes are likely to occur. These monitors are closely connected to the tunnel management system. Once the monitored visibility is lower than the set safety threshold, the system will immediately activate the warning mechanism. Through variable information signs, alarms and other devices inside the tunnel, it will promptly send warning messages to drivers, reminding them to slow down, maintain a safe distance and take safety precautions. The management department can also, based on the monitoring data, promptly take corresponding measures such as ventilation and lighting adjustment to improve the environment inside the tunnel, enhance the visibility, and create good conditions for the safe passage of vehicles.

What are the negative oxygen ion monitoring equipment? What is the role? In daily life, we often hear terms such as "negative oxygen ions". So what are these? Let's find out below!...
In Wales, rain seems to be a frequent visitor. The UK has an average of 159 rainy days per year, while Wales has as many as 173 days. So far in 2024, there have been even more rainy days than sunny days. The never-ending rain often makes people feel gloomy. But do you know that going for a walk on a...
After working hard for a whole year, a sudden severe weather may cause all the efforts to "go back to square one overnight". If you want to take preventive measures in advance, the weather forecast is sometimes not accurate enough, leaving people at a loss. Don't worry, our company'...
