The efficient operation and safety guarantee of the transportation industry are inseparable from accurate visibility data. In low-visibility weather conditions, such as heavy fog, torrential rain, blizzards, etc., the driver's field of vision will be reduced, increasing the probability of traffic accidents. According to statistics, the incidence of traffic accidents in low-visibility weather is much higher than that in normal weather. Therefore, real-time and accurate visibility data are crucial for traffic dispatching, safety early warning and other work. So, how exactly is visibility measured?
Visibility measurement mainly relies on the Visibility sensor, among which the forward scattering method is widely used. This method emits light at a specific angle through a transmitter. Particles in the air will cause the light to scatter. The receiver receives the forward scattered light, calculates the atmospheric extinction coefficient according to the intensity of the scattered light, and then obtains the visibility value. Based on this principle, Fengtu, a manufacturer of meteorological stations, has launched the Present weather and visibility sensor FT-N80.
The measurement range of this instrument can reach up to 80 km. Its shell is made of high-quality aluminum material, which has a low density and high strength. It is lighter and more robust compared to other metals, making it convenient for installation and transportation. It can also withstand a certain amount of external force without being easily deformed or damaged, so it has a certain anti-collision ability. The surface has been anodized and painted to enhance the corrosion resistance of the aluminum, improve the surface hardness and wear resistance, effectively block dust and moisture from entering the interior of the instrument, and achieve the effects of waterproofing and dustproofing.
In addition to accurately measuring visibility, the FT-N80 can also identify weather phenomena. It can accurately determine various weather conditions such as fog, rain, snow, mixed precipitation, clear weather, etc., with an identification rate of ≥ 95%. Through real-time monitoring and intelligent analysis, it provides more comprehensive and accurate meteorological information for traffic management departments, enabling them to adjust traffic management strategies in a timely manner.
In conclusion, the Present weather and visibility sensor FT-N80 not only provides reliable visibility data for the transportation industry but also, through the identification of various weather phenomena, helps traffic management departments effectively deal with complex and changeable meteorological conditions, ensuring traffic safety and smoothness. Currently, it has been applied in multiple traffic meteorological monitoring stations along highways.

A scattering-type visibility sensor is an instrument that estimates visibility by measuring the intensity of scattered light in the atmosphere. It is based on three assumptions: the atmosphere is homogeneous, the extinction coefficient is equal to the scattering coefficient, and the scattered light...

In the field of road traffic, adverse weather conditions are like invisible "traffic killers", posing a huge threat to safe operations. Road surface water accumulation, thick snow, excessive rain and snowfall, or the frequent occurrence of extreme weather such as dense fog, thick fog, sand...
Tea gardens are prone to a variety of pests, including common ones like the tea green leafhopper, tea geometer, tea tussock moth, black citrus aphid, and tea orange mite. The tea green leafhopper feeds by sucking the sap from tender tea shoots, causing leaves to lose greenness, wither, and hinder sh...
