Wildfire dynamics are highly influenced by on-site meteorological conditions: wind speed and direction determine the fire’s spread path, while temperature affects both fire intensity and rescue safety. Real-time and accurate meteorological data serve as the "lifeline" for emergency response. However, conventional weather stations are fixed and cannot cover the complex areas surrounding wildfires. Thus, the Portable Weather Station has become an essential piece of equipment for observers dispatched to the scene. Specifically designed for mobile emergency scenarios, it can quickly monitor meteorological changes and accurately collect data such as wind speed, wind direction, and air temperature, assisting in predicting fire spread and guiding rescue routes and operational zones.
The weather station is made of lightweight materials, equipped with a foldable stand and a storage case, allowing single-person portability and transportation, and is adaptable to complex terrains. Powered by lithium batteries and featuring a high protection rating, it can withstand wildfire-related dust and high-temperature airflows, ensuring continuous data collection.
For data transmission, multi-mode communication is adopted: a built-in wireless module enables rapid upload of real-time data to the command center for sharing. To address weak signals in mountainous areas, a backup communication method is available, and it also has local storage functionality to prevent data loss, preserving information for post-fire review.
In wildfire response, the deployment of the device has been standardized. After arriving at the scene, observers quickly complete setup and debugging, and immediately start data collection and upload. The command center integrates meteorological data with terrain and vegetation information to build a fire spread model, providing support for formulating fire-extinguishing plans and allocating resources, significantly improving response efficiency and safety.
