It primarily monitors the spatiotemporal dynamics of small migratory insect populations and provides precise data for insect ecology research, overcoming the limitations of traditional manual monitoring—such as low efficiency, data lag, and restricted monitoring periods. Standing 8.3 meters tall, the device utilizes a base-mounted fan to generate powerful suction, precisely capturing small pests—such as aphids—that pass by or linger near the tower's summit.
insect suction device features a robust protective design, including a bird-proof and rain-proof cap and a multi-layered mesh system, which effectively prevents large debris, birds, and rainwater from entering the unit, ensuring stable operation in complex outdoor environments. Capable of unattended operation, the device autonomously executes the entire workflow—including luring, killing, and separating insects, photographing samples, draining waste liquid, and collecting specimens—without the need for frequent manual intervention. It automatically captures images of insect samples every 30 minutes and transmits the data to an agricultural cloud server via wireless technology.
The cloud-based system employs intelligent AI recognition algorithms to analyze the uploaded images, automatically identifying pest species, counting populations, and organizing data. Monitoring personnel can access real-time pest data remotely via PC or mobile app to track population dynamics.
