The COVI Detector is a dedicated sensor designed specifically for tunnel environments to detect carbon monoxide (CO) and visibility. Installed on the wall on one side of the tunnel, it continuously and stably monitors the internal environment of the tunnel, providing the tunnel central control room with real-time and accurate CO concentration and visibility detection values. It is one of the key devices in the tunnel environmental monitoring system.
The Tunnel Visibility Detector is developed for the special working conditions of tunnels, with its core capability being the online collection of various types of environmental data. In terms of data collection scope, it can not only accurately capture the CO concentration in the tunnel but also real-time collect key environmental indicators such as smoke and dust content, concentrations of automobile exhaust-related components, and visibility in the tunnel. These data are directly related to the air quality and traffic visibility conditions inside the tunnel, serving as important environmental bases for ensuring road traffic safety.
In practical applications, various environmental data collected by the Tunnel Visibility Detector are transmitted to the tunnel central controller in a timely manner. The central controller conducts professional analysis and processing of these data to determine whether the CO concentration exceeds the standard, whether the visibility meets the safe traffic standards, and whether the smoke, dust, and automobile exhaust components are within a reasonable range—providing a scientific basis for tunnel operation and management. Based on the processing results, managers can take timely measures, such as adjusting the operating status of the ventilation system to reduce CO concentration and smoke content, or activating warning devices and limiting vehicle speed when visibility is low. This effectively ensures the safety and smoothness of vehicle traffic in the tunnel and maintains the stability of the tunnel traffic environment.
