An agricultural IoT monitoring station consists of soil moisture meters, insect monitoring lamps, a weather station, video surveillance, and spore traps. Data is uploaded to a cloud platform via a 4G network, enabling remote online monitoring of insect infestations, weather conditions, soil moisture, and crop growth.

An agricultural IoT monitoring station is an online monitoring system integrating multiple sensor monitoring devices. This system comprises a tubular soil moisture meter, insect monitoring lamps, a weather station, video surveillance equipment, a fence, a wind-suction insecticidal lamp, a spore trap, and a cloud platform. The monitoring station can systematically monitor and manage soil temperature, soil moisture, pest and disease conditions, climate conditions, crop growth, and spore count in agricultural fields. In terms of hardware deployment, tubular soil moisture monitors collect temperature, humidity, and pH values from soil at different depths. Insect monitoring lamps and wind-suction insecticidal lamps work together to trap and identify pests. Weather stations monitor air temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, sunlight, and rainfall. Spore traps automatically capture microscopic images of airborne pathogen spores using a high-magnification optical microscopy imaging system.

Regarding data acquisition, agricultural IoT monitoring stations upload all collected monitoring data to the monitoring platform via GPRS/4G or Ethernet. Managers can remotely view real-time trend data of various environmental parameters via mobile phone or computer without needing to be on-site. The platform also supports AI-powered automatic pest identification, automatically counting pest types and quantities, and generating regional pest statistics and trend analysis. The meteorological monitoring module supports remote real-time viewing and online analysis of historical meteorological data, while the soil moisture monitoring module can remotely acquire soil temperature, humidity, moisture, and pH data and perform historical data analysis. The seedling monitoring function allows real-time viewing of crop growth via video camera, and the spore traps automatically capture and upload spore images around the clock. In terms of application scenarios, agricultural IoT monitoring stations are widely used in agriculture, forestry, and high-standard farmland management. The equipment can operate unattended, automatically collecting and uploading meteorological information remotely, and providing remote monitoring and early warning through a monitoring platform. Wind-suction insecticidal lamps use physical methods to efficiently kill insects, reducing the use of chemical pesticides. The first fully automated positioning monitoring station, equipped with soil temperature and humidity sensors and 360-degree video monitoring equipment, has been put into use in the Fengning Bashang Grassland in Hebei Province. High-standard farmland monitoring stations integrate IoT sensing technology and big data analysis functions, enabling real-time monitoring of key indicators such as farmland temperature and humidity, soil moisture, and pests and diseases. IoT insect pest monitoring lamps intelligently identify the types and quantities of pests, providing farmers with precise prevention and control guidance, effectively preventing insect infestations. Managers can make corresponding adjustments based on data feedback from the platform to ensure good crop growth, realizing a shift from experience-based planting to data-driven planting.
